Fourth of July

Our 4th of July was spread across the long weekend this year, but that makes it all the more fun! We spent some time with Tres and Sherry on Friday, went to a big pancake breakfast at Riverdale Park. They had games and bounce houses, and then we went to watch the parade.

Linc and Ollie were thrilled to win a few prizes at pinko and I was amazed at how well Maddie did throughout the parade with all of the loud sirens and huge crowds.

They collected candy...
a few other treasures...
and gave important high fives...
climbed walls...
and bounced themselves silly.

That night we did fireworks at the house and had our own beautiful sunset of a light show too!
Oliver hated the smell of the fireworks and kept his nose plugged the entire time. He has such a sensitive sense of smell, sometimes pointing out yucky smells at very inappropriate times, if you know what I mean. Cracks me up!
Check out that sky.

Luckily for my sons, in Utah we get to do fireworks again on Pioneer day on the 24th. The more chances to blow things up the better.
We also went and had a barbecue at the Buck's house, and it was so nice getting to spend time with such good friends. We ate some amazing grub, shot off fireworks, and just revelled in the good company!
Happy Independence Day to all!
