Lake Ontario

This post is a bit late, but I still wanted to add it.  I can't even express how wonderful it is to live so near to my sister and her family.  They live a couple hours south of us, and the drive really isn't bad at all.  We haven't lived this close for a really long time, and it's been so fun.  We get together about once a month or so, and for us, that's a lot.  We're enjoying every minute while we can.
They came up over memorial weekend, we had a parade in our little town.  Then we went up to Lake Ontario that afternoon.  We were pleasantly surprised to find out how close it is to our house.  Only about a ten minute drive.  It was so beautiful!  Growing up in Ohio, we spent many summers up around Lake Erie, so it seemed to have a familiar feel to me, that took me back to my childhood.  I have such great memories of family trips up to the Lake with my grandparents.  It's great to be so close to such a pretty place.

The water was freezing, but that didn't stop the kids from getting soaked.  They all had so much fun standing on the rocks, while the big waves came splashing in, soaking them all through.  It was very entertaining to watch.  Oliver was even loving it until he got completely submerged by a big wave that kind of took Josh and Rusty by surprise.  He was done after that.

Another great moment was when we ere all loading up to head home, and one towel short.  Linc and Seth wrapped it around themselves and shared all the way to the car, giggling the whole way.  They are only three months apart, and seemingly fast friends, unless they're fighting of course.  Our tiny house was busting at the seams, total chaos, sharing one bathroom with 10 people, but we loved every minute of it.  What a great visit!

We never realize how blessed we are to have family around until we don't. I am so thrilled you have your sister close by.
Lake Ontario looks fun, but a tid bit nippy.
