Transitioning to a new school, different classmates, different teacher, new rules, and all that stuff was a bit stressful for Linc this year. I was so proud of the way he handled all of the challenges that came his way. His class here was a little less structured and definitely more chaotic, which was hard for my little type A boy. He adjusted so well, and really rolled with the punches more smoothly than I could have asked for.
His class did a little science week where parents could come in and do experiments with the class. I was excited to be able to participate, and Linc wanted to do one of his most favorite things, explode something. We did our old standby, duet coke and mentos experiment, and it was a major hit! Oliver felt like such a big kid "hangin" with all of Linc's buddies, he's totally ready for school at 3, which is so different from where Linc was at his age.
Grandma Sherry actually used to teach in this very same classroom and she offered to come in and do an art project as well, so we teamed up and took the last half of the day to do it together. We had a riot! All of the kids did a great job listening and we made these beautiful painted frames and put their pictures in them. We also iced and decorated some sugar cookies to eat. It was a really fun day and a great way to wrap up Linc's kindergarten year.
