Disneyland

I had to make Disneyland a post of it's own, even though we did it midway through our trip, way to much to try and squeeze into one post.
We absolutely love Disneyland, every time we come we have to make the trip, and it's always worth it! This time was neat because, Ananda took a day off work to come play with us, and Matt came as soon as he was done, they have season passes. It's so fun having friends near by to meet up with. After walking around for all of 30 minutes my super comfy shoes did not feel so super comfy, so I had to splurge for a pair of little girl Minnie Mouse socks. They were bright red with white polka dots, I looked very festive, and more importantly my feet felt much better.

The first ride we went on was the Buzz Light Year ride, it's one of Linc's favorites, and we knew Ollie would love it. We gave each of the boys a small budget to spend while at the park, and of course Oliver wanted to spend half of his after the first ride. He carried this laser gun around the whole day zapping us all with this amazingly high pitched blast.

The boys did such a great job, sometimes places like Disneyland can really bring out the worst in kids, you see them melting down all over the park. We had 0 tantrums, whining, or melt downs and that's really saying a lot because we stayed until midnight. When we do Disneyland we do the all day experience.

So I guess they even had a petting zoo. Oliver was unfortunately an inch too short to make it onto a lot of the rides. That 40inch is kind of important, he was such a trooper though. The first time he got booted was hard, but he was easily distracted by a cinnamon churro. Later we knew which rides he could do, so we could save him the trauma. Grandma was nice enough to take him to do some special things like the petting zoo, while Josh and I took Linc on some of the bigger rides.

He absolutely loved the Winnie the Pooh ride, and went on it 3 or 4 times in a row.

We were also lucky enough to see Captain EO which is one of Michael Jackson's greatest performances. Seriously, Ananda and I couldn't help but get into it, it was awesome! Oliver passed out and had a great nap in the air conditioning.

As we were racing around trying to pack in as much as possible, we ended up in this little tucked away garden area. All of sudden it started lighting up and shooting streams of water across the pathway all set to the music. We got a little private show, in the midst of a very packed and crazy Disneyland. It was one of those very magical moments that you can never plan, but make the whole experience so much sweeter. Oliver's face=pure joy!

One of my favorite rides is the jungle tour, I think the tour guides are hilarious, even if it's all very scripted, they make it so funny!

Lincoln had so much fun riding some of the bigger rides, this was the log plume with all of the cute Brer Rabbit stuff at the beginning, before it plunges you over the huge drop.

Both of my boys just loved Ananda, they still talk about how much fun she and Matt are. Too bad we don't live close enough to have them babysit!

We stood in line for quite awhile for the Indiana Jones ride, even with our fast passes, at least they make the wait line very entertaining. The first time through we got all the way to the front of the line and then they shut it down for awhile. Luckily they gave each of us a few extra fast passes so we got to use them on a bunch of other rides as well.

...and eventually Linc had his turn on Indiana Jones, he ducked his head the whole time though, so I'm not sure how much of it he actually saw. He was pretty bummed at the end, because he missed most of it, and decided that next time he for sure would be brave enough to keep his head up the whole time, I guess we'll see. This is my favorite ride!

We all ate dinner at the Blue Bayou. It's one of our favorite places to eat, we actually love their Monte Cristo sandwiches, but they only serve them for lunch. We called right when we got there, but could only get a reservation at 9:00 at night, it's a pretty popular place.

Ollie and Linc loved the pirate hats, Ananda loved the paper lanterns, and everyone loved their dinners. Oliver was so worn out he crawled up into my lap and passed out for the night.

They loved these cheap light sabers, and they have held up for a surprisingly long time.

So the Snow White ride is still a bit creepy.

I love these shots, we all got pretty soaked on this ride, and Tres's face is great, even if he is just hamming it up for the camera!

After dinner we left the sleeping Ollie and Lincoln with grandma and grandpa and headed out for for a few more rides. Star Tours and Space Mountain will always be among my favorites, and we even had time to hit Buz Light Year again. SO much fun!

We started home at around 12:30, but hit some horrific traffic. We were stuck in it for three hours, and didn't get in until 4:40 in the morning, we were all pretty tired the next day, but it was worth it.
