Almost spring!

We had so much fun last week with our visit from Seth and Grandma Sherry. Lincoln anticipated their arrival forever and was spilling over with excitement when they finally arrived. Our weekend was completely packed with fun activities, I really am amazed at how much we did in such a short amount of time. We took Seth to the cool snake exhibit, went biking, bowling, and to a monster truck show. Lincoln loved spending time with his cousin, and it was great for Seth to be able to meet Oliver. It was sad when they had to leave, but we're all looking forward to our trip to Utah to bless Oliver at Easter. Now were all just taking it easy to catch our breaths from the busy week.

This past Sunday we were all sitting around the dinner table when Oliver starting really belly laughing for the first time, it was so adorable. Of course the source of this sudden laughter was Lincoln. Lincoln being in the same room with Oliver is really all that it takes for him to be truly entertained for hours. He thinks Linc is hilarious. I of course can try forever to get him to laugh in vain, because right now only Lincoln is funny enough. Josh searched quickly to find the camcorder and get it on tape, but as it always goes the battery died. Maybe next time, right! It was one of those moments when you feel like you could have a dozen more children because these moments bring such complete delight, but I'm always snapped back into reality very quickly. Lincoln finally went to primary all by himself, and with no tears on Sunday, and he got to say the opening prayer. He begged all during sacrament to be able to go up and say something, Josh kept trying to explain that the bishop asks certain people ahead of time to speak and say the prayers, and that it's not really on a volunteer basis. He's three though, and very determined but was finally nullified by the prospects of bearing his testimony next Sunday, and perhaps saying a prayer in primary. Lucky for us whoever was supposed to say the prayer didn't show up so Lincoln got his wish. Now we just have to cross our fingers that his testimony bearing next Sunday will go smoothly (i.e.he won't say anything completely embarrassing).

Lincoln's been obsessed with being outside since the weather warmed up. He's constantly out there over turning rocks digging for bugs and then bringing them inside for me to see. I of course shoo him quickly back outside with his new little friends and try to make some outside only containers for his discoveries. I consider the fact that we already have a jar full of spiders in his room to be a big step for me. He and his dad captured them, and we built this little habitat in a jar for them. It's actually been kind up fun to watch them spin their webs and trap and eat other bugs. I know it sounds a bit gory, but it's really pretty cool. Hopefully we'll be able to replace all these creepy crawly pets for a cute cuddly dog in the near future.
